Moving week photos May 2009

This isn't our first move by any stretch of the imagination. However, this one seems to be the most difficult. Several factors have contributed to this feeling. We bought our house here so we are more attached, we've been here 4 years (the longest assignment so far), so we're a bit rooted, both of our families are close by which has made it so nice and easy to see them, and we have met the most awesome people. They are the friends that have become family. All that being said, we hope to come back and pick up where we left off. Here's few photos from the week...

My parents and Grammy came up from Bradenton and we all went to lunch at Smokey Bones in Brandon. Great bbq. It was great to see them and lunch was awesome!

5-23-09 fun with friends/Memorial Day weekend

I love a long weekend especially when spent with good friends. Saturday night we got together with everyone at our house. Sort of a last hurah at the house since the movers come on Tuesday to pack us up. We had the usual fair, great food, drinks and card playing. We were more mellow than usual...guess it wasn't exactly a happy occasion, but fun none the less.

Met up with Dawn 5-22-09

Thanks to facebook I've reconnected with so many people I haven't seen since elementary school and beyond. It is really a great site and I'm thankful for these opportunties. That being said, I met up Friday night with Dawn Lewis. We were in girl scouts together in elementary school and have not seen one another since then. Turns out she is St. Petersburg, less than an hour away...ugh, that sucks, especially since we're moving in two weeks!

Anyway, the bright spot is that we got together this past Friday night at P.F Changs in Tampa. We had drinks, great appetizers and 4 hours of uninterrupted conversation (what is that again?). It was so nice to catch up and find each other again. I hope that we will continue to stay in touch and always be close. Thank you Dawn for a great night and I hope that we will always stay connected. It was truly like we never were apart as friends and I hope that continues on. Until we meet again!

May 9 (May 8-11 part 2), 2009...reconnecting with old friends

So I took this weekend to go down to Southeast FL for multiple reasons. I wanted to visit with Peg and Rik and let the kids have some grandparent time before our move to San Antonio. Another reason was to get together with some old friends. I met up with Nata at the park, which was great. Then Saturday night, Dave's band The Procrastinators was playing in Boca. I haven't seen Dave in almost 10 years. So it seemed a great opportunity to get as many high school buddies together as possible. Thanks to facebook, we've all reconnected, so it was pretty easy. The night was great, the band INCREDIBLE, and the company couldn't have been more perfect. It was really like we just picked up where we left off the last time we saw each other, which ultimately was what I wanted. A great time indeed, can't wait until the next!

May 8-11, 2009: Weekend in South Florida...part one

Kids and I took a weekend road trip to South east Florida to visit the grandparents and see some old friends. We stayed at Peg and Rik's in Coral springs. Kids enjoyed the pool, a park in Boca (sugar sand park-see first group of photos, awesome park) and a second birthday party for Mike who turns 10 on the 13th of May. Great weekend! Enjoy the photos!
