6-18-09 Trip to Chautauqua, NY

The day started out early as we left San Antonio, TX for NY. Plane ride was uneventful, thankfully! Our first stop was in Charlotte, NC where we did manage to find Angie. We had about 30 minutes to get lunch and board. We flew through some pizza place, handed everyone a slice and a water and we boarded! Next stop was Philadelphia, we had more time here and sat down for a drink at a resturant and then boarded for Buffalo. After arrival and finding Angie we rented a car and drove the 75 miles south to Chautauqua. There isn't much along the way, vineyards and old tiny towns. Kind of felt like stepping back in time. None of us had eaten since the North Carolina pizza run, so the first place we saw we were stopping. We didn't see much until we got to Chautauqua, we rounded a bend and there was Docks. The sign said all you can eat crab legs and shrimp. Sounded awesome! We had a blast and ate like kings and queens. We all shared a fondue entree, Che, Angie and I had the crab legs, Madison had a steak and Mike had Mahi Mahi, of course (he said he likes it because it tastes just like chicken!). After feasting we traveled on to the Chautauqua Institute where we were staying at a lovely house with my parents. Photos of feasting, Lake Chautauqua and the lighthouse.
