This morning we all gathered at Clark Cottage, it was wonderful to see everyone and reintroduce cousins to each other, since they were much younger the last time they were together. We all drove to nearby Jamestown NY to Lake View Cemetery for the memorial service. It was a beautiful service filled with fond memories of Netsy. It was a cloudy overcast day and as the service closed the sun came out. Uncle Bill said that Netsy brought the sun out for us, she was there for sure.
I added here a couple of quotes of things said at the service that made me smile with the memories of words or sayings spoken and stories of their childhood. Brings a smile and a tear.
"And they ask about you, and are you gone?
And even though people tell me you are,
I know different because the collywobbles
aren't very serious, and though angeneurodicadema
is much worse, it couldn't bring you down,
nor even could diacutics of the epizudics." ~David Clark
"Each night before going to sleep we entered into a dialogue of mutual good nights that was so repetitive (“Nite-nite, pleasant dreams, thank you, you’re welcome, same to you”) we eventually reduced it to an acronym. Today it’s called “texting”! So for now, dear Sis’, until we meet again, I say:
“N.N.P.D.T.Y.Y.W.” and she replies, “S.T.Y.”! ~Carol Whitehead (mom)
